Heavy Rainfall in South Florida; Active Weather in the West

A stalled front will continue to bring additional heavy rainfall potential over the next few days across southern Florida, with localized and urban flooding possible. A strong Pacific storm will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms across the Northern Great Basin, the Rockies and into the Southwest through Saturday. Systems and Facilities Division (SFD)

The Systems and Facilities Division (SFD) manages the operations and maintenance of the various systems and facilities which support the NWS Western Region weather enterprise. Examples include Doppler Radar (WSR-88D), Automated Surface Observing Systems (ASOS), NOAA Weather Radio (NWR), Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS), local and wide area networks, buildings, grounds, and towers, just to name a few.
