Severe Thunderstorm Areas This Saturday; Excessive Heat in the Southern U.S.

Damaging thunderstorm winds and a few tornadoes with areas of excessive rainfall are possible today over parts of the lower Great Lakes to upper Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic, the Ozarks, and south-central High Plains.  Operations and Decision Support Division (ODSD)

                                                           

The WR Operations and Decision Support Division (ODSD) is focused on supporting the hydrometeorological operations of the WR field offices and assisting in the evolution of operations toward an IDSS focus. The ODSD mission is to promote and implement IDSS for weather and water dependent events that significantly affect people, their livelihoods and the economy throughout WR. The ODSD meets its mission by:

  • Developing a vision for the consistent implementation of IDSS throughout the Region
  • Identifying and promoting IDSS "best practices" throughout the WR field offices
  • Managing and operating the WR Regional Operations Center
  • Cultivating regional partners and identifying their weather-dependent information needs
  • Implementing new tools and techniques which support the provision of IDSS by all WR field offices
