Quick Event Summary

Several storm systems impacted the state through the month of March bringing some intense rainfall, large hail and one tornado. The second tornado of the year occurred in Garland/Saline Counties on March 14th. While there were severe weather reports during the month (mainly on the 14th) there was far less severe weather compared to other years. Temperatures were generally well above normal throughout the month, but many locations did experience a freeze around March 18-19. There were no low temperature records broken during the month.

While rainfall totals were above normal in many locations, these values were largely influenced by a heavy rain event that took place on the 14th and 15th when severe weather occurred. If not for that heavy rain event, totals across the region would be much lower and generally below normal.
