TOOK A NOSEDIVE IN JANUARY. THE MONTH ENDED 1.2 DEGREES BELOW THE
1991-2020 MEAN. IN TERMS OF DEPARTURE FROM NORMAL, THIS WAS THE
MOST SIGNIFICANT COOL ANOMALY SINCE LAST JULY (IN OTHER WORDS
THE COOLEST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE AVERAGE MONTHLY VERSUS 30-YEAR
MEAN MONTHLY TEMPERATURE). WHILE AVERAGE LOWS AND HIGHS WERE
BOTH COOL, THE LOWS ARE WHAT MADE THE DIFFERENCE.
