.SUMMARY...
PREVALENT SOUTHWEST TO SOUTHERLY WINDS KEPT SIGNIFICANTLY ANOMALOUS
WARMTH AT HARRISON THROUGHOUT THE MONTH. THE ANOMALOUS PATTERN
MADE FOR THE WARMEST DECEMBER IN 37 YEARS, AND THE WARMEST DECEMBER
SINCE RECORDS WERE STARTED IN 1891. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT AND PROLONGED WARMTH
OCCURRED IN THE LAST SEVEN DAYS OF THE MONTH, WHERE DAILY READINGS WERE
RUNNING 25 TO NEARLY 30 DEGREES ABOVE THE 30-YEAR AVERAGE.

REVERSING THE TREND FROM THE PREVIOUS MONTH, RAINFALL ACTUALLY WAS ABOVE
AVERAGE FOR THE FIRST DECEMBER IN THREE YEARS. RAIN FELL EACH WEEK, BUT
WAS HEAVIEST AND MOST FREQUENT DURING THE THIRD WEEK OF THE MONTH (14TH-
21ST).

SNOWFALL WAS LACKING, BUT TRACE AMOUNTS WERE RECORDED ON THE 11TH, 18TH
AND 19TH. THIS MADE FOR THE FIRST DECEMBER IN TWO YEARS WITH NO MEASURABLE
SNOWFALL.

.MONTHLY AVERAGES...
THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS THE WARMEST SINCE 1957, AND THE WARMEST
ON RECORD. IT WASN`T EVEN CLOSE...WITH THE PREVIOUS RECORD WARMEST AVERAGE
HIGH AT 58.5 IN 1957.

THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS THE WARMEST SINCE 1984, AND THE WARMEST
ON RECORD. THE AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE WAS THE WARMEST SINCE 1984,
AND ALSO THE WARMEST ON RECORD, THANKS LARGELY DUE TO ANOMALOUSLY WARM
HIGH TEMPERATURES.

THERE WERE 13 DAYS WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES AT OR ABOVE 70, WHICH WAS THE
MOST IN THE MONTH SINCE 1933, AND THE MOST ON RECORD FOR DECEMBER, EASILY
EDGING OUT THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF EIGHT DAYS FROM DECEMBER 1933.

FOR ONLY THE 3RD TIME SINCE RECORDS BEGAN IN THE CITY IN 1891, THE TEMPERATURE
ROSE TO 80 DEGREES DURING THE MONTH, AND THIS OCCURRED ON THE 3RD. THIS HAS
ONLY OCCURRED IN DECEMBER TWO OTHER TIMES...IN 1929 AND MOST RECENTLY IN 1955.

THERE WERE NINE DAYS WITH LOW TEMPERATURES AT OR BELOW FREEZING, WHICH WAS
THE FEWEST IN THE MONTH SINCE 1984, AND THE FEWEST ON RECORD IN DECEMBER.
THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS FROM 1984, WHEN ONLY 10 DAYS WITH SUB-FREEZING LOW
TEMPERATURES WERE RECORDED.

TIED DECEMBER 11, 1929 FOR THE 2ND WARMEST TEMPERATURE ON RECORD DURING
THE MONTH.
--THE HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 78 DEGREES ON THE 2ND ENDED UP MOST RECENTLY TYING
DECEMBER 25, 1955 FOR THE 4TH WARMEST DECEMBER TEMPERATURE OVER ALL.
--THE LOW TEMPERATURE OF 65 ON THE 15TH EDED UP BEING THE WARMEST RECORDED
DECEMBER LOW TEMPERATURE AT HARRISON SINCE 2015, AND SET A NEW RECORD WARMEST
LOW FOR THE MONTH AT HARRISON. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 64, WHICH HAD BEEN
SET ON DECEMBER 12, 2015.
--THE DAILY AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF 66.0 ON THE 2ND MOST RECENTLY TIED
DECEMBER 29, 1984 FOR THE 6TH WARMEST DAILY AVERAGE TEMPERATURE ON RECORD FOR
THE MONTH.
