Above average temperatures are expected through the weekend with afternoon temperatures running 3-7 degrees above normal over inland areas. There is a low to medium chance of peak heat index values exceeding 107F on one or more afternoons through this weekend across portions of the Florida panhandle and Apalachicola National Forest. The only exception may be Thursday and Friday, with cooler temperatures at some locations due to greater precipitation coverage.
The best chance of rain appears to be Thursday and Friday. Heavy rainfall potential is greatest in the FL Counties, especially coastal areas. Heavy rainfall may lead to instances of isolated flash flooding on Thursday and Friday. Do not drive through flooded roadways.
