AT 559 PM EST...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A POSSIBLE TORNADO
15 MILES SOUTHWEST OF BOOT KEY. THE ASSOCIATED THUNDERSTORM WAS
MOVING NORTH NORTHEAST AT 45 MPH.

IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...THE SAFEST PLACE IS UNDER
STURDY FURNITURE IN AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR. USE
PILLOWS TO PROTECT YOUR HEAD. AVOID WINDOWS. A MOBILE HOME IS NOT A

A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE MIDDLE AND LOWER
KEYS UNTIL 705 PM. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WITH STRONG RADAR
INDICATIONS OF A TORNADO IS MOVING NORTHEAST TOWARDS THE MIDDLE
AND UPPER KEYS. THE THUNDERSTORM AND POSSIBLE TORNADO WILL MOVE
ACROSS THE KEYS FROM BOOT KEY TO MARATHON TO LONG KEY DURING
THE NEXT 30 MINUTES. RESIDENTS IN THE MIDDLE AND UPPER KEYS SHOULD
TAKE SHELTER IMMEDIATELY. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS STORM.

IF YOU ARE CUAGHT OUTSIDE...SEEK SAFETY IN A NEARBY STURDY
BUILDING. AS A LAST RESORT...SEEK REFUGE IN A CULVERT...

FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...

IN SOUTHERN FLORIDA

   ...MONROE UPPER KEYS INCLUDING ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS
   ...MONROE MIDDLE KEYS INCLUDING ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS
   ...MONROE LOWER KEYS INCLUDING ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS

AT 720 PM DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED TWO POSSIBLE TORNADOES... ONE
JUST SOUTHEAST OF CRAIG KEY AND ANOTHER 20 MILES SOUTHWEST OF BAHIA
HONDA. THESE WERE PART OF A LARGE AREA OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FROM
SOUTH OF THE KEYS ACROSS FLORIDA BAY AND INTO MAINLAND MONROE AND
DADE COUNTY. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING NORTH NORTHEAST AT 40 TO
45 MPH.

TOSSED AROUND BY TORNADO WINDS. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT IN THE PATH OF A

THE FOLLOWING IS A VERY EARLY LIST OF SOME OF THE SEVERE WEATHER
AFTERMATH IN PALM BEACH... BROWARD... DADE... AND THE FLORIDA KEYS.

INFORMATION IS VERY SKETCHY FOR PALM BEACH COUNTY ALTHOUGH IT WAS
MAINLY THE EXTREME SOUTHEAST PART NEAR BOCA RATON THAT WAS AFFECTED
BY SEVERE WEATHER.

FOR BROWARD COUNTY... THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS POWER OUT IN MUCH
OF THE COUNTY. SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE... TREES AND POWER LINES DOWN AND
PLANES OVERTURNED AT NORTH PERRY AIRPORT.

FOR DADE COUNTY... METRO DADE POLICE ARE CHECKING ON DAMAGE IN MANY
SECTIONS OF THE COUNTY. WE HAVE NO SPECIFIC REPORTS BUT DAMAGE TO
TREES AND POWER LINES ARE WIDESPREAD.

A STATE OF EMERGENCY HAS BEEN DECLARED IN THE FLORIDA KEYS AS AS
MANY AS THREE SEPARATE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OR TORNADOES MOVED
THROUGH THE LOWER AND MIDDLE KEYS. POWER IS REPORTED OUT FROM MILE
MARKER 80 IN ISLAMORADA THROUGH KEY WEST.
