...TORNADO CONFIRMED FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON IN CONWAY COUNTY...

FRIDAY AFTERNOON...JUNE 12TH...A TORNADO WAS SPAWNED IN CENTRAL
CONWAY COUNTY ABOUT 0.6 MILES EAST OF POSSUM TROT. THE TORNADO
DISSIPATED ABOUT 0.2 MILES NORTH NORTHWEST OF SOLGOHACHIA. THE
TORNADO WAS RATED EF1 ON THE ENHANCED FUJITA SCALE. THE PATH LENGTH
WAS 2.44 MILES.

THE TORNADO TRACKED THROUGH RURAL AREAS...AND DOWNED MANY TREES AND
POWER LINES. A FEW ROOFS SUSTAINED DAMAGE. EF1 TORNADOES HAVE WINDS
BETWEEN 86 AND 110 MPH.

THE TORNADO WAS EMBEDDED IN A BOW ECHO...OR A BACKWARDS C SHAPED
LINE OF STORMS...WHICH IS OFTEN ASSOCIATED WITH STRONG TO DAMAGING
WINDS.

ADDITIONAL STORM SURVEYS WERE CONDUCTED TODAY ACROSS PORTIONS OF
JOHNSON...POPE...CONWAY...FAULKNER...LONOKE...WOODRUFF...WHITE...AND
JACKSON COUNTIES. STRAIGHT LINE WINDS WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR MANY
AREAS OF DAMAGE IN THESE COUNTIES. NO ADDITIONAL TORNADO DAMAGE WAS
DETECTED.

THE STORM SURVEY WAS CONDUCTED BY TWO DIFFERENT TEAMS FROM THE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE. TEAM MEMBERS INCLUDED WARNING COORDINATION
