INCHES FELL IN THE FAYETTEVILLE AREA...WITH TWO TO THREE FOOT DRIFTS
REPORTED. AREAS NEAR THE MISSISSIPPI DELTA REGION AROUND HELENA SAW
AROUND 12 INCHES...WITH 6-8 INCHES AROUND THE HOT SPRINGS AND LITTLE
ROCK AREAS.
1892...MARCH 15TH-18TH...NEAR-RECORD SNOWFALL OCCURRED OVER THE
ENTIRE STATE. THE STORM BEGAN IN THE NORTH ON THE 15TH...ENDING ON
THE 16TH. SNOW BEGAN ON THE 16TH IN THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH...MOSTLY
ENDING ON THE 17TH. IN MOST AREAS...SNOWFALL RANGED FROM 4 INCHES TO
OVER A FOOT. THE HEAVIEST TOTALS WERE IN CENTRAL ARKANSAS...WITH
OVER 20 INCHES AT HOT SPRINGS...AND 14 INCHES IN THE PINE BLUFF
AREA. AFTER THE SNOWFALL...TEMPERATURES FELL INTO THE TEENS...WITH
SINGLE DIGITS RECORDED AT HOT SPRINGS.

MARCH SEVERE COLD OUTBREAK...WITH TEMPERATURES AS COLD AS -14 AT
GRAVETTE AND LEAD HILL THE NEXT DAY.
1960...MARCH 1ST-2ND...HEAVY SNOW FELL IN NORTHERN ARKANSAS...WIH UP
TO 7.5 INCHES. FOUR TO FIVE INCHES FELL IN THE LITTLE ROCK AREA
ALONE. ONE TO TWO INCHES OF FREEZING RAIN FELL IN THE SOUTH.
1968...MARCH 21ST...HEAVY SNOWFALL WAS CONFINED TO EASTERN ARKANSAS
NEAR THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER. MOST OF THAT AREA SAW OVER TEN INCHES...

FROM LITTLE ROCK TO NEAR BLYTHEVILLE SAW FOUR TO SIX INCHES. NEARLY
SEVEN INCHES FELL IN THE LITTLE ROCK AREA.
1988...MARCH 17TH...HEAVY SNOW FELL IN THE NORTH...WITH 22 INCHES
REPORTED NEAR HARRISON.
1994...MARCH 8TH...HEAVY SNOW FELL ACROSS NORTHERN ARKANSAS. MUCH OF
THE AREA SAW 8-16 INCHES OF SNOW...WITH SOME AREAS SEEING AS MUCH AS
20 NEAR THE MISSOURI BORDER.
2008...MARCH 3RD-4TH...HEAVY SNOW IN PARTS OF NORTHERN AND WESTERN
ARKANSAS BEGAN ON THE 3RD. BY THE 4TH...EIGHT INCHES HAD FALLEN AT
DANVILLE...AND 12 INCHES HAD FALLEN AT DARDANELLE.
2008...MARCH 6TH-7TH...HEAVY SNOW FELL ACROSS MUCH OF THE STATE FOR
THE SECOND TIME IN LESS THAN ONE WEEK. THE SNOW CONTINUED INTO THE
7TH...WITH 10.5 INCHES AT SUBIACO...TEN INCHES AT EVENING SHADE...
