...A FLASH FLOOD WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR MUCH OF ARKANSAS FROM
NOON TODAY THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING...

.A FLASH FLOOD WATCH WILL BE IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF ARKANSAS DUE TO
THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY RAIN AND POSSIBLE FLASH FLOODING OVER
PARTS OF THE STATE. AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER
NORTHEAST TEXAS WILL GRADUALLY MOVE NORTHEAST INTO ARKANSAS TODAY
AND THROUGH FRIDAY...AND BRING PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN TO THE STATE.
THE HEAVY RAIN WILL CAUSE SOME FLOODING AND FLASH FLOODING TO
MATERIALIZE OVER PARTS OF ARKANSAS...ESPECIALLY OVER THE
SOUTHWEST...CENTRAL...AND NORTHEAST. THE TRACK OF THE LOW WILL BE
FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST ARKANSAS THROUGH FRIDAY. OVERALL RAIN
AMOUNTS WILL BE FROM ONE TO THREE INCHES...WITH ISOLATED AREAS
AROUND 4 INCHES FOR THE ENTIRE 24 HOUR TO 36 HOUR PERIOD. THERE IS
SOME UNCERTAINTY IN THE EXACT MOVEMENT AND SPEED OF THE UPPER LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM...AND THE PRECISE AREAS THAT WILL RECEIVE THE RAIN 
AND THE AMOUNT OF RAINFALL WILL HAVE TO BE MONITORED. AREA
RESIDENTS SHOULD MONITOR FORECASTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS DURING
THIS HEAVY RAIN EVENT.
