Last Map Update: Tue, Sep 30, 2025 at 9:58:50 am CDT

Dry weather pattern will persist across much of the central United States as an expansive area of ridging remains situated across the Mid Mississippi and Ohio Valley regions. Morning temperatures will feel pleasant over the next several days with afternoon highs topping out in the 80s across the Natural State. Looking towards the tropics, Hurricane Humberto will get caught up in strong westerlies which will steer the system away from the east coast.
Seasonably warm temperatures continue through early next weekend. Afternoon high temperatures will average roughly 4 to 6 degrees above normal for afternoon highs. Low temperatures will range from the upper 50s to the lower to mid 60s through this weekend. A weak disturbance will push over the state from the northeast bringing a chance for an isolated chance for a shower or thunderstorm. Otherwise, dry conditions are expected as high pressure continues to dominate the weather over Arkansas.
The amount of daylight will continue to decrease until the Winter Solstice (12/21/25) occurs. The state will lose roughly an hour of daylight during the month of October with slightly later sunrises and slightly earlier sunsets.
Under mainly clear skies during the overnight hours, lows will drop into the mid 50s to mid 60s.
Another unseasonably warm day is in the forecast for Tuesday with highs topping out in the 80s. It would not be surprising to see some parts of the Delta reaching 90 degrees.
In a nutshell, it is going to be dry through Saturday at least. Even with the very heavy rainfall parts of the state saw last week, only western Arkansas has a soil moisture surplus at this time. With the current forecast, all of the state will continue to dry out.
