Areas of heavy rain in July across northern, western, and central Arkansas are the result of the remnants of Hurricane Beryl (on the 8th/9th) and a slow moving cold front from Missouri (on the 16th/17th). It's no wonder some sites have precipitation totals over 10 inches.
Temperatures around the forecast area are expected to fall to the upper 60s for most locations on Friday night, and areas of northern Arkansas could see temps fall to the upper 50s by early Saturday morning.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are back in the forecast, with hit and miss precipitation continuing through much of the upcoming week (especially during the afternoon/early evening). Expected amounts will range from a tenth to half an inch across the northern half of Arkansas to half an inch to two inches farther south.
