Areas of Excessive Rainfall and Severe Thunderstorms on Tuesday

Heavy to excessive rainfall is forecast over north Texas into Oklahoma Tuesday. Locally catastrophic flooding will be possible across portions of southwest Oklahoma. Flood Watches have been issued. The Automated Flood Warning System (AFWS) website is experiencing a temporary outage. The AFWS collects and shares flood information from numerous sensors across several states. A fix has been identified which should be completed on or around January 24th, 2017. Until then there is an alternative site (link also available on the original site, https://preview-water.weather.gov/afws/index.php) that will have current data posted until the fix has been implemented. Please note that while not supported operationally, the alternative site will be monitored. We apologize for any inconvenience.
