Critical Fire Weather Persists in the Southern Plains; Severe Weather and Heavy Rain Expected Over the Weekend

High winds and very dry conditions will continue to produce elevated to critical fire weather conditions over portions of New Mexico and far western Texas through Saturday. The following NOAA All-Hazards Weather Radio Transmitter:

* WWG-61 in Stanton KY / Frequency 162.550 MHz

will undergo intermittent outages today while maintenance is
performed on the tower.

Alternative transmitters in the area include WWG63 in Frenchburg
on a frequency of 162.475 MHz and WNG727 in Irvine on a frequency
of 162.475 MHz.

Full service will be restored once maintenance work is complete.
