Severe Weather and Flash Flooding Potential for the Center of the Nation

An upper level trough coinciding with surface frontal boundaries will focus showers and thunderstorms from the Great Lakes region into the Ohio and Tennessee Valley's, central and southern Plains. Snowfall amounts continue to trend downwards with the upcoming snow potential for tonight into Saturday. However, light snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are still possible for most locations, with locally higher amounts up to 3 inches. Given the warm ground, roads should remain mostly wet through the event, although if the snow can come down hard enough, a brief period of slush will be possible. The wet nature of the snow could lead to a few isolated power outages. Any snow will come to an end by Saturday afternoon.
