Tropical System in the Gulf; Dangerous Heat and Air Quality Concerns; Severe Thunderstorms for Midwest to mid-Atlantic

Tropical system in the Gulf expected to gradually strengthen the next couple of days off the Florida Panhandle and Alabama coasts. Instances of flash flooding will be possible through Thursday along the eastern and central Gulf Coast. Overview

A disturbance passed across Kentucky on March 17th. Scattered thunderstorms developed and quickly turned severe during the evening hours. Storms were responsible for bringing down trees and causing minor structural damage. Some hail reports in excess of an inch were also reported.  Severe weather was concentrated in areas south of the Mountain Parkway.
