West to northwest winds become strong and blustery for the afternoon and early evening with gusts from 40 to 50 mph expected.  The winds will gradually decrease this evening. Be ready for impacts to travel, especially high profile vehicles along north-south corridors.

  • What: west to northwest winds 20 to 30 mph, gusting from 40 to 50
  • Where: entire area
  • Timing: Peak gusts 1 pm to 6 pm
  • Impacts: high profile vehicles may encounter difficult travel (especially along north-south running roads). Outdoor furniture, loose objects likely to get blown around
  • ACTION: secure lightweight, outdoor objects (such as garbage cans). Be prepared for difficult driving conditions, especially open areas
