The NWS has changed the look and features of our online radar displays.  Many features are planned in the year ahead. We are also working to increase the loading speed of the displays.

If you have suggestions or feedback, you can email nwsradarfeedback@noaa.gov.

Here is some information that may help out with this transition or answer any questions you might have.

Main features / upgrades:

  • Individual radar sites are combined into one radar mosaic (example)
  • New page is interactive (GIS-based) and zoomable
  • Additional (and some higher resolution) radar products, including Dual-Pol
  • Additional FAA Terminal Doppler radars
  • Adjustable transparency layers and backgrounds
  • Advisories, Watches, and Warnings overlayed
  • Clickable NWS forecast off of radar map
  • Same interface on desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
  • Option to focus on one radar site and check status of data
  • Save any image by right-click, save as (PNG)
  • New features will be added in time

You will likely have to adjust your web browser bookmarks and customize your own vantage point.  We urge you to familiarize yourself with the new features by just clicking around.
