Overview

A slow-moving low pressure system produced heavy rain across east-central and southeast Minnesota as well as portions of west-central Wisconsin from Saturday evening (May 16) through Sunday night (May 17). In the local area, the heaviest rain (2-4+ inches) fell across Dodge, Mower, Olmsted, and Wabasha counties in southeast Minnesota. and Buffalo County in west-central Wisconsin.

Due to the dryness since April 1, there was no flooding from this heavy rain. However, runoff did produce rises along the Cedar, Whitewater, and Zumbro Rivers in southeast Minnesota and along Turtle Creek in the Austin, MN area.
