Today: Critical / Elevated Fire Weather Conditions

  • What: elevated to critical fire weather conditions. Low humidity, gusty south winds (30 to 40 mph) and dry grasses, crops will allow for quick starting, fast moving fires.
  • Where: higher fire danger west of the Mississippi River
  • Timing: 11 am to 7 pm
  • Impacts: fires will start very easily, moving quickly through dried grasses and crops.
  • ACTION: avoid any outdoor burning, including campfires
