Freezing Rain/Wintry Mix Saturday

A mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow moves through the region from late tonight into Saturday night. Expect widespread travel impacts, especially on untreated or lesser travelled roads. A storm system impacts the region after midnight tonight and persists into Saturday night, with a wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow expected. Highest ice amounts will be west of the Mississippi River with 0.10 to 0.20" expected, possibly close to 1/4" in northeast Iowa. Lesser amounts of ice are expected east of the river. Ice and light snow accumulations will lead to slippery roads and potentially hazardous traveling conditions.
