This was the second of two tornadoes to touch down in Adams County of this day.  The National Weather Service storm survey team confirmed that this tornado formed near County Road G and Buttercup Ave. north of where the Arkdale to Cottonville tornado dissipated. EF1 damage was noted to some homes and trees, especially along Buttercup Avenue.  Several center-post irrigation systems were destroyed along with some roof damage to homes and power poles.  At 5:35 pm CST, this tornado moved out of Adams County and entered Waushara County about 1.8 miles northwest of Coloma. The worst damage occurred just inside the Waushara County line. A mobile home roof was torn off and roof damage was noted to several homes. The average width was about 80 yards.  This tornado caused an estimated $610,000 in damage ($430,000 in Adams County and $180,000 in Waushara County).  More on this tornado can be found at:  https://www.crh.noaa.gov/arx/?n=apr1011

This was the first of two tornadoes to touch down in Adams County of this day.  The National Weather Service storm survey team confirmed that this EF2 tornado tracked from approximately three miles west of Arkdale to County Road G.  The tornado caused extensive damage to barns, trees, and parts of a house two miles west of Arkdale.  A cement silo was knocked over as well. The tornado crossed Highway 21 north of Arkdale hitting nearby homes, irrigation systems, and hundreds of trees.  A very distinct convergent pattern was noted in the trees at this location with winds estimated around 125 mph.  Several more farms, homes, and trees were hit as the tornado continued toward the south side of Big Roche A Cri Lake near the small community of Cottonville.  Several cars and mobile homes were flipped or heavily damage.  A lake association building on the southwest side of Big Roche A Cri Lake was completely destroyed and numerous center-pivot irrigation systems were twisted or destroyed across the county. EF2 damage was noted as the tornado widened to nearly a half mile wide.  It crossed Highway 13 at Cottonville and gradually began to weaken hitting more seasonal homes, trees, and roof tops.  The tornado dissipated south of the Colburn Wildlife area.  More on this tornado can be found at:  https://www.crh.noaa.gov/arx/?n=apr1011

6 23 2004 1820-1855 CST New Lisbon 9E to Grand Marsh 4SE Juneau 18 50 0 0 F1
A line of thunderstorms that moved out of Minnesota produced wind damage, hail and several tornadoes. This was fourth tornado to occur this evening. It formed in extreme eastern Juneau County, about 2 miles west of Castle Rock Dam. The tornado moved east-northeast across Castle Rock Lake and into western Adams County. It tracked near or along Edgewood Ave, with extensive tree damage to the Quincy Bluff area, including the lookout ranger tower there. Hundreds of trees were blown down from strong winds rotating around the tornadic thunderstorm, which were in excess of 90 mph at times. The tornado intermittently tracked east to areas just north of Edgewood Drive crossing Highway 13 approximately 5 miles south of Adams/Friendship (Adams County). Downburst winds on the south side of the storm demolished at least 8 mobile homes in Edgewood Estates that were orientated north-south and took the full brunt of the cross wind. This was the same area hit by severe weather in September 2000. Most of the Town of Easton (Adams County) had extensive damage with hundreds of trees down. It continued to move east-southeast before lifting shortly before the Adams-Marquette County line about 3 miles southeast of Grand Marsh around 7:55 pm. A broad area of straight line wind damage was found south of this tornado track with widespread tree damage occurring up to 1 mile south of the track. The tornado path was approximately 17 to 18 miles in length. The tornado was rated an F1 on the Fujita Damage Scale with estimated wind speeds in the 73 to 112 mph range. This tornado caused an estimated $7,000 of property damage in Juneau County, and $100,000 of property damage in Adams County.
