Overview
Around 6:40 pm Thursday, July 7th, 2016 a thunderstorm developed over Missaukee County, becoming severe as it entered into Roscommon County. Thunderstorm wind damage occurred across a small portion of Roscommon county, including trees and power lines reported down in Houghton Lake. Wind gusts were estimated to be around 60 mph. A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect at the time damage occurred, issued at 6:11 pm and allowed to expire at 7:15 pm.
Wind:
Wind gusts estimated at 60 mph were associated with this severe thunderstorm causing downed trees and power lines as seen in the image below.
