Another active stretch of winter weather kicks the week off with lake effect snow in the eastern U.P. tonight and developing light snowfall across northwest lower later tonight into Tuesday morning. 4-8" of snow are possible in western Chippewa County, with a few inches of snow possible across northwest lower.

The next round of snow commences around midweek as a system passes through the Great Lakes, bringing widespread accumulating snow to the region. As of now, the greater impacts from this system appear to favor areas closer to Saginaw Bay and downstate. Some uncertainty remains, so be sure to monitor the forecast for updates! On the heels of the system, we are expecting a transition to lake effect snow through the day Thursday.

Yet another system looks to pass through this upcoming weekend. As far as temperatures go, we will remain 5-10 degrees below normal much of the week, and trend even colder by the weekend with highs in the single digits and teens.
