.DISCUSSION: Rain showers and thunderstorms move across the U.P.
MIZ001-003-040915-
this week starting today as a dying cold front crawls from west to
east across the region. While light rainfall amounts of around one
to three tenths of inch of liquid are expected today and tonight,
expect to see more rainfall as early as Tuesday evening as a
second, stronger cold front pushes in from the west. This cold
front could bring a soaking rainfall to much of the U.P., with
some spots possibly receiving over an inch. Hopefully, this will
relieve the moderate drought conditions over by Ontonagon County.
Otherwise, conditions will be wetter today through Wednesday as
warm and moist air remains ahead of the cold fronts. Drier and
cooler conditions are expected beginning Thursday as Canadian air
drops over us. It's possible we may see some limited fire weather
concerns from this cooler air given the air will be drier and
accompanied by gustier winds.
