KUAC has returned the live broadcast feed of Alaska Weather at 5:30PM to UAFTV channel 9.4 and cable channel 6. KUAC-TV says this will better accommodate viewers that want to watch the weather and the PBS News Hour.

As of Monday, September 12, KUAC-TV in Fairbanks announced their intention to reinstate the public broadcast of the Alaska Weather show. The Alaska Weather show will move to KUAC's digital channel 9.4 (UATV/FNX) and to GCI cable channel 6 at 6:30 p.m.

As of Wednesday, September 7, KUAC-TV in Fairbanks discontinued public broadcast of the Alaska Weather show. This ends decades of daily, publicly available aviation weather, safety and planning forecast information from the National Weather Service over broadcast television service for all Fairbanks viewers.
KUAC-TV does not carry 360 North on a digital channel. Fairbanks viewers looking to watch Alaska Weather will need to watch the ARCS network at 5:30 p.m., 360 North on satellite or cable service, or on YouTube.

The Alaska Weather show produced at 5:30 p.m. on Alaska Public Media's PBS stations( KAKM, KTOO and KYUK) is now seen at 5 a.m. the next morning following a decision by Alaska Public Media.
Alaska Public Media viewers receiving Alaska Weather over the airwaves may view 360 North at 7:30 p.m. You may need to rescan your available channels. 360 North is available over the airwaves on these digital channels:
Anchorage: Channel 7.3
Juneau: Channel 3.3
Bethel: Channel 10.3
360 North is also available via some of Alaska's cable and satellite providers. Check your channel list or call your service provider.
Viewers of Alaska Weather on KUAC in Fairbanks, ARCS (Alaska Rural Communication System), and 360 North will be unaffected by this change.
Alaska Weather is also available online. The entire broadcast is viewable after 6 p.m. each evening at weather.gov/anchorage/tv. This service is available for home computers and on mobile devices and tablets via YouTube.
