Zonal flow will be in place across the southern CONUS this week as a broad, elongated upper level ridge (H) remains in place. As a result, mostly dry conditions and unseasonably warm temps will prevail through the week.
Forecast lows tonight into Friday morning will be in the mid 50s to mid 60s. Temperatures will warm for Friday night into Saturday morning, with lows in the mid 60s to low 70s.
There will be some small chances for showers and isolated thunderstorms today and Friday. Chances today will be limited to far northwest sections from just after sunrise to midday. Chances for rain on Friday will extend further south and east.
The potential for seeing above normal conditions increase within the period 6 to 10 days out over Arkansas (May 19-23). The potential for seeing above normal rainfall also increases during that same time frame.
