Tornadoes, Severe Storms, and Floods Strike Central Indiana: May 30 - June 9, 2008

Nine tornadoes occurred in Central Indiana during the period of May 30 to June 4, 2008. During the period May 30 to June 9, storms also produced damaging straight line winds, hail, and flooding rains. Below is a brief summary of the severe weather that occurred. Friday, June 6:

Severe storms bring 80mph winds to parts of Central Indiana

Saturday, June 7:

Heavy rain from Friday night and Saturday morning, up to nearly 11 inches, creates major and record flooding across the area. Page also includes pictures of river flooding after June 7 caused by the heavy rains.

Monday, June 9:

Severe storms bring golf ball size hail, damaging winds, and more flooding rains.
