Overview
Severe storms erupted during the early morning hours of Sunday May 3rd over south central Kansas. These storms quickly became severe producing hail to the size of golf balls near Wichita. As the storms progressed east the damaging wind threat quickly increased. 75 mph winds downed trees and caused damage to outbuildings in Greenwood county. Near Iola, a weather station recorded a 76 mph wind gust that knocked down trees and snapped power poles. In Woodson county severe winds damaged several outbuildings and metal structures. |
