Severe storms developed over central Kansas between 3 and 4 pm on Wednesday May 30th. These storms quickly became severe producing hail slightly larger than golf balls. Between 5 and 6 pm, additional storms developed over south central Kansas with one of the storms dumping up to 2 inch diameter hail as it tracked across Wichita. Toward sunset the storms eventually formed into a line and raced south while producing damaging winds up to 70 mph.
