Arctic air will filter south and east through early this week. Behind passing cold front later on today reinstating our cold airmass, wind chill values will get dangerously cold across all of the Panhandles. Some areas may have wind chill values as low as -25°F. Remember to protect the 4 P's - People, Pets, Pipes, and Plants during these cold conditions.
The potential is there for light snowfall accumulations in the NE combined Panhandles where 1-3" of snow is possible with a light dusting elsewhere. Please use caution if traveling today across all of the Panhandles.
Snow will move in and shift across the Panhandles from north to south. Start time will be around sunrise for the northern Panhandles and slowly shift south closer to midday for the southern TX Panhandle.
Winds will be variable around 5-10 mph to start the day. Then as the front moves south, winds will shift to northerly behind passing cold front with gusts as high as 20 to near 30 mph at times.
A very cold day today with high temperatures struggling to get above 20°F in most areas across the Panhandles.
Frigid low temperatures tonight with many locations below zero, with much more frigid wind chills to accompany the low temperatures.
Protect People, Pets, Pipes, and Plants from cold weather.
