Critical Fire Weather Continues for Coastal Southern California; Sharp Temperatrue Swings in the East

Critical to extremely critical fire weather conditions will continue for southern California through Wednesday due to moderate to locally strong Santa Ana winds. Red Flag Warnings are in effect. A fresh Arctic blast will impact the eastern half of the U.S. through the middle of this week before milder temperatures briefly return by week's end. Arctic Air For the Weekend
The much talked about arctic air mass is still on schedule to impact the Panhandles this weekend. At this time temperatures are expected to plummet as much as 20 to 30 degrees in the 24 hours that passes between the cold front. This event will also be follow by chances of precipitation over the weekend with latest seeing 30 to 50% chance of some amount of accumulation. However, the full intensity of this air mass is still a bit uncertain with some locations seeing the potential to drop by as much as 40 degrees in that 24 hour period.
