A High Wind Warning has been issued for the Pribilof Islands and High Wind Watches have been issued for several other Southwest Alaska regions

High winds are in the forecast throughout Southwest Alaska. A High Wind Warning has been issued for the Pribilof Islands with 80 mph gusts expected. This means that we have high confidence that those wind speeds will be experienced on the islands.

A High Wind Watch has been issued for three different areas: the Alaska Peninsula with 90 mph gusts possible, the Eastern Aleutians with 75 mph gusts possible, and the Kuskokwim Delta Coast also with 75 mph gusts possible. Remember that a watch means that there is less certainty regarding the specific speeds but we are alerting you that high winds may be experienced Saturday night through Sunday in those areas.
