Winter Storm Warning now in effect. The well advertised winter storm is still forecast to move through the region beginning Tuesday afternoon. The greatest impacts are to occur Tuesday evening into early Wednesday morning as a snow, a mix of winter precipitation, and freezing rain occur. Even after the precipitation ends around sunrise, temperatures below freezing will still create very hazardous conditions on area roadways. Travel is NOT recommended.

These are the latest Monday afternoon updates to the forecast snow/sleet accumulations and freezing rain accumulations. While freezing rain accumulations have remained nearly steady, forecast snowfall amounts of increased significantly across southeast Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. Depending on the evolution of the warm air aloft, and cold temperatures at the surface, snow amounts could verify higher, or lower, across the yellow shaded region.
