Gusty Winds in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast; Atmospheric River to Impact the Northwest

Gusty winds are expected from portions of the Mid-Atlantic into the Northeast through the night following the system that brought rain to the area. An atmospheric river will move into the Northwest late today into Saturday bringing moderate to heavy rainfall, mountain snow, windy conditions, and high surf to the area over the weekend. After a long hiatus SMG is sharing KSC area wind towers out to MADIS and the Utah MesoWest every 5 minutes.  You can see the data at:

  • NWS Weather and Hazards Viewer 
  • Utah MesoWest To see the KSC towers be sure to click the Network dropdown box and select "All Networks".  This site is especially nice as all tower levels can be listed with a few clicks.
