Additional rounds of heavy rain and thunderstorms could produce localized flooding. The lightning risk will generally remain slight but may become elevated at times. Where? Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. When? Tonight, overnight, and Thursday morning as a tropical wave moves across the region. Remain weather aware. Never drive across flooded roads, and move indoors if you hear thunder.

📅 Sep 16, 2026: A moderate rip current risk is in effect only for St. Croix today. Life-threatening rip currents are possible. Beachgoers should choose a guarded or more protected beach, swim near a lifeguard, and avoid the water if surf or currents become dangerous.
