[June 24] Tropical Wave and Saharan Dust 🤧Moderate Saharan Dust concentrations early today. High concentrations this afternoon over the USVI and this evening over PR, persisting through Friday. 🌬️🌧️A weak tropical wave moving mainly south of the region will promote passing showers under breezy ESE winds and afternoon showers/t-storms mainly over interior to W-NW PR. 🌡️Elevated Heat Risk affecting affects most individuals sensitive to heat, especially those without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration. [24 de junio] Onda Tropical y Polvo del Sahara 🤧Concentraciones moderadas de polvo del Sahara temprano hoy. Concentraciones altas esta tarde sobre las USVI y al anochecer sobre PR, persistiendo hasta el viernes. 🌬️🌧️Una onda tropical débil desplazándose al sur de la región favorecerá aguaceros pasajeros bajo brisa fuerte del ESE y aguaceros/tronadas por la tarde, principalmente sobre el interior hacia el O-NO de PR. 🌡️Riesgo Elevado de Calor afectando la mayoría de las personas sensibles al calor, especialmente aquellas sin enfriamiento efectivo y/o hidratación adecuada. #PRwx #USVIwx

[June 24] The day will start with moderate concentrations of Saharan Dust as a tropical wave moves south of the region. High concentrations of Saharan Dust will then reach the USVI this afternoon, continue moving westward over PR this evening and persist over the islands through Friday. This will result in hazy skies, reduced visibility and deteriorated air quality. [24 de junio] El día comenzará con concentraciones moderadas de polvo del Sahara mientras que una onda tropical se mueve al sur de la región. Esta tarde llegarán concentraciones altas de polvo del Sahara a las USVI, continuarán desplazándose hacia el oeste sobre Puerto Rico esta noche y persistirán sobre las islas hasta el viernes. Esto provocará cielos brumosos, visibilidad reducida y un deterioro en la calidad del aire.
