Another unseasonably hot day is expected today with highs in the mid to upper 80s for most locations. Slightly cooler temperatures, in the 70s, are expected across the northern Big Country.
The last of this very warm February heat will be Saturday afternoon as temperatures soar into the mid 80s to around 90. Record temperatures may be again set at Abilene and San Angelo.
A strong cold front will move across the area Saturday Night, bringing cooler conditions for Sunday. The most likely scenario has some afternoon sun and allows temperatures to climb into the 50s and 60s. If there are more clouds however, temperatures may stay in the 30s and 40s.
Several strong cold fronts moving across West Central Texas will produce wide swings in temperature from day to day. A freeze is again possible by mid to late week.
