Hazardous Travel Conditions Are Possible from the Winter Storm Moving from the Central Plains to the Mid-Atlantic

A major winter storm is moving from the Central Plains into the Mid-Atlantic region. Eight -14 inches of snow is forecast from northern Missouri through the Central Appalachians, with 6-12 inches of snow likely across the Mid-Atlantic states including the Washington, D.C. metro area. A Cold Weather Advisory will be in effect from Midnight to 10 AM tomorrow. Wind Chills will be between 5 and 15 degrees.
Lows overnight and tomorrow morning will be in the teens to lower 20s. Wind chills will be even low. A Cold Weather Advisory will be in effect from Midnight to 10 AM.
Below freezing low temperatures and high temperatures struggling to reach into the low 30’s to low 40’s are expected through much of this coming week. Increasing chances for precipitation mid to late week with these cold temperatures could result in increased chances for measurable snow Wednesday into Friday.
A cold front will move through the area today bringing breezy north winds and cooler temperatures.
