Strong Winds and Localized Flooding Concerns Round Out the Work Week

A stationary disturbance over the Ohio Valley will work in tandem with the remnants of Hurricane Helene to impose daily chances of showers and storms over the next several days. The combination of training storms and heavy rainfall rates associated with activity will continue to yield localized flooding potential. A brief period of strong wind gusts may be possible along the mountains on Friday. Read More >

 .DISCUSSION...
A frontal boundary will help funnel in moisture and an abundance of
rain from the deep south which will be ongoing for today. Cloudy
skies, rain showers with periods of steady rain with cooler than
normal temperatures will be the theme today. Thunderstorm potential
is very low, but we cannot rule out an isolated one or two.

On Friday, the remnants of Helene approach the area. This will bring
gusty winds, and more rain to much of the region.

The weekend looks to remain unsettled with occasional showers and
storms as a combination of an upper level disturbance and the
 remnants of Helene venture eastward.
