On Saturday, May 29, 1982, an F4 tornado claimed 10 lives and injured nearly 200 as it ripped a 17-mile path across the city of Marion and Williamson County in southern Illinois.  This NOAA National Weather Service web site commemorates this tragic event while promoting severe weather awareness.  The site is organized into ten sub-page sections which are detailed below.  At the top of each section is a quick-select menu that not only gives you an idea of where you are, but also allows you to browse the entire site without having to go back to the home page.
