Critical to extreme fire danger is expected Monday with breezy southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts up to 45 mph. Dry conditions will bring minimum relative humidity values as low as 10 to 20 percent. A Red Flag Warning has been issued for most of the area Monday from 11 AM to 10 PM.

The potential for critical to extreme fire danger continues Tuesday due to windy and dry conditions. Southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 to 50 mph possible. Minimum relative humidity values may be as low as 10 to 20 percent. A cold front will bring a shift to winds late in the day to the northwest. A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for most of the area Tuesday from 11 AM to 10 PM.

Elevated impacts Monday and Tuesday with critical to extreme fire danger concerns due to warm, dry and windy conditions. A cold front Tuesday night will bring a slight chance for precipitation across northern Oklahoma into Wednesday morning.

Local Weather History For March 17th...

Winter was not quite over yet on March 16th and 17th, 1988. A
snowstorm left more than 4 inches of wet snow across much of
northwest and north-central Oklahoma. A few locations in northwest
Oklahoma received as much as 15 inches of snow.
