Field terrace damage near Pisgah, Iowa | Road washout near Magnolia, Iowa | This culvert is one of two that was damaged during the heavy rain event. They are 14 feet in diameter and about 120 feet long. |
Radar/MRMS
This is an image of CREST Unit Streamflow. This parameter, blue and white pixels, shows the significant runoff that occurred due to the heavy rainfall. For a rural area, seeing values like this are rare. | This is an image of how often this type of rainfall occurs on average. Values exceeding 10 are high. The value here are close to 100, which indicates an extreme rainfall event. | This is an image of the 3-hour rainfall as depicted by the radar. The values shown here indicated widespread rainfall amounts of 4 to 5 inches. It is likely even higher amounts fell than shown here. |
River Hydrographs
A significant amount of runoff from the hills went into the Solider River. Note the river graph shows a more than 10 foot rise in a short period time due to this runoff. | Additional runoff from the hills even influenced the river level on the Missouri River. The gage at Omaha shows over a two foot rise in a short period of time due to this heavy rain coming out of Iowa. |
Flash Flood Warnings
Flash flood warning issued for Auburn, NE | Flash flood warning issued for North Bend,NE | Flash flood warning issued in Monona and Harrison counties in Iowa. | Flash flood warning issued for portions of eastern Nebraska. |
