Rare Southern U.S. Winter Storm; Dangerous Cold Weather For Much of the Eastern U.S.; Critical Fire Weather for Southern California

A rare winter storm impacting the Southern U.S. will move offshore Wednesday morning. Behind the storm, arctic air will continue encompassing the eastern two-thirds of the Nation with only a slow return to normal temperatures expected by the end of the week. Record River Flooding

March 13th - March 23rd 2019

 

Heavy rainfall over frozen soil and rapid snow melt led to record river levels across several states. The map below shows the river gauges that had record crests during the March 13th - March 23rd time period. Each point is clickable and contains the new record information as well as flooding images at some sites.
