The storms produced at least two tornadoes, which are summarized below. .Tornado in Pontotoc and Lee Counties MS... Rating: EF-2 Estimated Peak Wind: 115 mph Path Length /Statute/: 10.2 miles Path Width /Maximum/: 200 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 1 Start Date: November 05 2018 Start Time: 1058 PM CST Start Location: 7.1 W Tupelo/Pontotoc County/MS Start Lat/Lon: 34.2601 / -88.8283 End Date: November 05 2018 End Time: 1110 PM CST End Location: 4.5 NNE Tupelo/Lee County/MS End Lat/Lon: 34.3217 / -88/6623 SURVEY SUMMARY: The tornado developed in far eastern Pontotoc County along Lee Line Road. The tornado caused EF-0 and EF-1 damage to homes and trees west and just north of the Tupelo Airport. The tornado intensified as it approached Colonial Estates Road, and damaged numerous homes in neighborhoods to the east of Colonial Estates. Two homes had roofs completely removed, and non-brick exterior walls collapsed on one of these. Several homes had roofs partially removed. As the tornado crossed McCullough Blvd., several businesses were damaged including one which had the roof partially removed. The tornado moved through neighborhoods near I-22 and Natchez Trace, snapping/uprooting trees and causing some structural damage. The tornado weakened slightly as it crossed I-22, where it damaged commercial buildings just south of Barnes Crossing Mall. The tornado intensified again as it crossed Big Oaks Golf Club and approached an assisted living center. The tornado caused considerable roof damage to the assisted living center. The final damage from the tornado was observed along County Road 851. .Tornado in Itawamba County MS... Rating: EF-1 Estimated Peak Wind: 100 mph Path Length /Statute/: 5.1 miles Path Width /Maximum/: 300 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: November 05 2018 Start Time: 1119 PM CST Start Location: 3.6 SW Kirkville/Itawamba County/MS Start Lat/Lon: 34.4039 / -88.5193 End Date: November 05 2018 End Time: 1127 PM CST End Location: 2.5 ESE Kirkville/Itawamba County/MS End Lat/Lon: 34.4422 / -88.4432 SURVEY SUMMARY: The tornado developed near the bottoms of Twentymile Creek. As the tornado approached Highway 371 south of Kirkville, it uprooted and snapped trees and substantially damaged a metal garage building. After crossing Highway 371, the tornado uprooted or snapped numerous trees, and caused minor damage to several mobile homes. The last damage was observed east of Ramey Road NE.
