After a dry September, significant rainfall fell in October across northern Illinois and northwest Indiana. There was record rainfall across most of the area on the 14th, when 4.19" fell at Chicago-O'Hare, 1.80" in Rockford, and the NWS Cooperative Observer at Midway Airport 3SW reported 5.11". The two day totals for October 14-15th ended up with some areas across Cook, DuPage, DeKalb, Kane and Kendall counties having seven to just over nine inches of rain!
