Rain Showers and Gusty Winds Coming to the Mid-Atlantic; Remaining Unseasonably Warm in the Central U.S.

Low pressure will track slowly northwestward into the Mid-Atlantic region through midweek bringing a risk for excessive rainfall, gusty winds, shallow coastal flooding, rip currents, and large surf. Flood Dangers

 

Although most flood injuries and fatalities occur in vehicles, the threat from flood waters should not be under-estimated in any situation.

  • 12 inches of moving water can float a car
  • 6 inches of moving water can knock a person off their feet
  • When encountering flooded roadways, find an alternate route - turn around don't drown!
