(December, January, February) 2017-2018 for Chicago and
Rockford...

At Chicago, the average high temperature for the winter season
was 34.7 degrees, which is 1.1 degrees above the 1981 to 2010
normal. The average low temperature was 19.0 degrees, which is 0.1
degrees below normal. The mean temperature for the season was
26.9 degrees, which is 0.5 degrees above normal.

A total of 6.77 inches of precipitation was recorded during this
past winter, which is 1.00 inches above normal. There was a total
of 30.2 inches of snow recorded at Chicago, which is 2.1 inches
above normal.

Records established or tied during the winter months:

December:
* Record daily low maximum temperature of 5 degrees on the 26th.

January:
* Record daily low maximum temperature of 1 degree on the 1st.

February:
* Record daily precipitation of 2.10 inches on the 20th.
**4th wettest February on record since 1871 with 4.64 inches.
**Tied 10th snowiest February on record since 1871 with 20.3

At Rockford, the average high temperature was 32.1 degrees, which
is 0.1 degree below normal. The average low temperature was 14.5
degrees, which is 1.8 degrees below normal. The mean temperature
for the season was 23.3 degrees, which is 0.9 degrees below
normal.

A total of 5.44 inches of precipitation was recorded during this
past winter, which was 0.68 inches above normal. In addition, a
total of 28.1 inches of snow was recorded, which is 1.1 inches
below normal.

is 2.7 degrees above normal. The average low temperature was 19.6
degrees, which is 0.5 degrees below normal. The average
temperature for the month was 28.8 degrees which is 1.1 degrees
above normal. During the month of February, 4.64 inches of
precipitation was recorded, which is 2.85 inches above normal.
20.3 inches of snow was recorded, which is 11.2 inches above
normal.

One record was set for Chicago for the month of February 2018:
* Record daily precipitation of 2.10 inches on the 20th.
