Thunderstorms and Widespread Rainfall Across the Southern Plains

Isolated severe thunderstorms and widespread showers may produce flash flooding across the Southern Plains through Thursday. Numerous instances of flash flooding are expected in south-central Texas, including portions of the Hill Country; and an additional area across eastern Oklahoma into the Ozarks on Thursday. Overview

 

  • Multiple rounds of storms passed over northern Illinois during Tuesday afternoon and evening.
  • Very heavy rain caused flooding across much of northern Illinois along and north of I-88.
  • Some areas received 2-4 inches of rainfall Tuesday.
  • We received reports of three tornadoes. Two were extremely short lived and produced no reports of damage.  The third struck Manhattan, IL in Will County and was rated EF-1.  More information is provided in the tornado tab.
