Chicago and Rockford...

At Chicago, the average high temperature was 77.7 degrees, which is
2.9 degrees above normal. The average low temperature was 61.4
degrees, which is 7.1 degrees above normal. The average temperature
for the month was 69.6 degrees which is 5 degrees above normal.
During the month of September, 1.76 inches of precipitation were
recorded, which is 1.45 inches below normal.

month of September 2016 for Chicago. However, it was the 12th
warmest September on record since 1872.
