THE DEBRIS SPREAD FROM ALL OF THESE LOCATIONS APPEARED TO BE THE RESULT OF STRAIGHT LINE WINDS FROM THE NORTH...WITH THE STRUCTURAL DAMAGE SUGGESTIVE OF WIND SPEEDS IN A RANGE FROM 80 TO 110 MPH. THIS WAS LIKELY THE RESULT OF A MICROBURST ALONG THE LEADING EDGE OF A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WHICH MOVED FROM NORTH TO SOUTH ACROSS THE AREA THE EVENING OF OCTOBER 2ND. MANY OTHER AREAS ACROSS NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA RECEIVED TREE DAMAGE AND FLOODING MONDAY EVENING. ESPECIALLY HARD HIT AREAS INCLUDED PORTIONS OF CREST HILL AND JOLIET IN WILL COUNTY WHERE EXTENSIVE TREE DAMAGE OCCURRED. $$ RATZER/HALBACH
